Bite size micro-articles, “In a perfect world..”
Some of those more observant and frequenting visitors amongst my readers may have noticed the new little widget at the side of the page, entitled “In a perfect world.” This was a little idea that occurred to me some time ago, where I take all those complaints I have that are too small to deserve a whole article, and just make a list of them in single sentence form. The little widget then picks one of them at random and displays it in that little section each time you view a page on the site.
For those of you lacking anything better to do, it will show a new one each time you refresh the page. As yet the list isn’t particularly extensive so you’ll be shown the same entry quite often, but I intend to add to the list as I go along.

I tend to be a lot more forgiving and patient when it comes to passing judgment on inanimate objects than I am on people; but overall I hardly need to look at something before I’ve made up some sort of opinion on what I’m seeing or experiencing. Once first impressions have been made, the stance one might have on the object in question could easily become set in stone. “That sucks,” “He’s an ass,” “God that was awesome,” “I love this.” Whatever it is that the person thinks of this new thing they’ve just experienced, in the case of most individuals, that opinion is considered as truth. No commentsBlurs on the station platform
I said I wouldn’t go on about my personal life, so I’ll make the background info as brief as possible.
This weekend I flew up to London with my father to watch the Red Bull air race, and whilst sitting on the train going to the venue I noticed in particular the one station we didn’t stop at; more specifically the people waiting on it.
At the time I felt somewhat like I was in the music video of The Chemical Brothers’ Star Guitar, but the moment I saw the last person on the platform zoom past, sitting on a bench in his green top and blue jeans (at least I think they were jeans), a thought hit me. Read more
